About Retrospectives

A few years ago, I lost both my father and my grandmother. They were warm, wise, extraordinary people, full of stories that shaped my life. But I never sat down with them to record those stories. I thought I’d do it “one day.”

When they passed away, I realised what I had lost: their voices, their expressions, their presence — the way they lit up telling stories from the past.

That regret became a lesson. And that lesson became Retrospectives.

We believe everyone has a story worth telling – not just the extraordinary moments, but the quiet ones, the personal ones, the ones that shaped who we are. Yet far too often, these stories disappear before they’re ever recorded.

We help people turn their most meaningful personal moments into cinematic legacies that last forever – the memories, the wisdom, the laughter – so that generations to come can truly know the people who shaped their family, not just through photos or anecdotes, but through voice, expression, presence, and emotion.

How It Works

1. Preparation 

We meet with you to understand your story, the themes you’d like to explore, and any photos or mementos you’d like included.

 2. Filming & Interview

We visit your home or chosen location for a relaxed, conversational interview. Everything proceeds at your pace.

3. Editing & Story Assembly

Footage is carefully edited, enhanced with photographs, music, and transitions – shaping your story into a cohesive, heartfelt film.

4. Delivery

Your completed retrospective is provided on USB and can be shared digitally with family anywhere in the world.
